What he does
Marty draws on nearly four decades of experience helping affluent families manage their assets. He oversees large-scale strategic wealth planning designed to provide services and solutions for each area of a client’s financial outlook. This may include portfolio management, business planning and succession, credit and lending, insurance, cash and income management, retirement planning, estate planning and charitable giving.

Who he serves
Over the years, high net worth executives, entrepreneurs, affluent families and private foundations have turned to Marty for financial planning and insight. He presently works with four generations of investors, many of them the children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren of his earliest clients.

How he works
Marty strives to evaluate financial and investment strategies for their suitability to clients’ objectives and tolerance for risk. Since the majority of the team’s clients have significant equity holdings, he also incorporates low volatility strategies that can help the family preserve and potentially grow its wealth.

Outside the office
Marty currently serves on the board of trustees of Venture for America, and has served as an Executive Committee Board member of the Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School. He was also a member of several committees of the UJA Federation and Chairman of its Leadership Development Division. He is also active in the Park Avenue Synagogue, serving as an honorary trustee, and a board member of Jewish Association for Services to the Aged, chairing its investment committee. Marty lives in New York City with his wife, Lynn. They have two daughters, Bonnie and Carly.

Qualifications
Marty has worked in financial services since 1969. In 1980, he joined a PaineWebber subsidiary which would eventually become part of UBS. He holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 securities licenses, as well as a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Yeshiva University.

What he does
Cliff offers clients a highly experienced perspective in wealth planning, asset allocation and portfolio management. He strives to help families pinpoint their goals in real and concrete terms, and works to develop targeted financial strategies and tactics. Cliff specializes in working with clients who have complex wealth structures spread over a number of asset classes. For those portfolios overseen by third-party money managers, he can help evaluate which manager may be most suitable given the portfolio’s holdings, relative risk and objective.

Who he serves
Cliff primarily works with affluent individuals, families and retirees. Among those clients, many of them are business owners for whom he helps manage the professional and personal sides of their financial lives. Cliff also works with foundations to help them manage their endowments, and provides advice on investing planned gifts and other large donations.

How he works
The entirety of Cliff’s career has been in financial services, so he has seen a number of different market cycles and economic conditions. He uses this insight to look at client portfolios from a perspective of prudence and preservation. Cliff and the team are known for their use of low volatility strategies for growing assets and preserving capital.

Outside the office
Cliff has been a longtime member of the Board of Managers for CancerCare of Connecticut and currently serves as its Treasurer. He is also an avid sailor and has a U.S. Coast Guard Master Captain’s license. Cliff lives in Old Greenwich, CT, with his wife, Wendy, and their daughters, Haley and Sara.

Qualifications
Cliff began his financial services career in 1980 and joined UBS in 1997. His credentials include FINRA Series 3, 7, 63, 65 securities licenses, as well as the Chartered Financial Analyst credential. Cliff graduated from New York University with a bachelor of science degree in finance and economics.

What he does
When evaluating the various investment and wealth management options The Halbfinger Group proposes, Doug usually asks, “What is the strategy? How will these actions add value to the client?” This focus on strategy represents a major part of the detailed planning and analysis Doug does for high net worth clients. He takes apart portfolios to see what’s working, what’s not, and what is the risk versus the client’s goals and expectations.

High-net-worth, highly compensated professionals and business owners who seek integrated wealth management. He also works with multiple generations of affluent client families interested in preserving and passing on their wealth. In addition, Doug offers investment guidance to prominent foundations and charitable institutions.

How he works
Because Doug has worked with such a wide range of families, he understands how a combination of strategies may help ensure family members enjoy the life they have now while preserving capital for future generations. He also takes the long view in building relationships, knowing the value of consistent, disciplined stewardship over time. He offers clients a highly consultative approach with tailored solutions bridging investments, liability management and financial planning capabilities.

Outside the office
Doug serves on the board of the Jewish Community Center in Harrison, New York, where he currently serves as the Assistant Treasurer and plays an active role in fund raising. Doug also works closely with American Corporate Partners (ACP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting veterans in their transition from the armed forces into the civilian workforce. He lives in Harrison with his wife Alison and their children, Jared and Jordyn.

Doug joined UBS in 1997. He holds FINRA Series 3, 7, 9, 10, 24, 63, 66 licenses, as well as New York State Life Insurance and Health Insurance licenses. Doug graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor of science degree in consumer studies.
