James, who wanted to apply his business skills and help people achieve their financial goals, has worked in the financial services industry since 1966. He joined PaineWebber, UBS’s predecessor firm, in 1992. He earned a B.S. degree in business administration from Wayne State University and a M.S.A. degree in business administration from Central Michigan University. James and his wife, Sharon, have been married for 40 years. They have two children, Rebecca and Kevin and two grandsons. Outside of the office, James enjoys golf, fishing, traveling, classic cars, and boating.

Kevin began his career in financial services in 1993 when he joined Paine Webber, UBS’s predecessor firm, after he graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. degree in finance. Since then, he has qualified as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM and an Accredited Asset Management SpecialistSM. Kevin and his wife, Stephanie, have two sons, Nicholas and Justin. Outside of the office, he enjoys fishing, golf, travelling and watching auto races.

Clare, who has been with the firm since 1993, enjoys assisting Jim and Kevin in helping people to achieve their financial goals and plan for the future. In 1996, Clare came to work in the Troy office as a branch administrator. After 12 years in that role, she joined The Nowakowski Team as a Registered Client Service Associate. She supports the team by handling the administrative aspect of the business and assisting clients with account maintenance. Clare was a business major at Michigan State University where she earned a B.A. degree in finance.
