We strongly believe that responsible and involved corporate citizenship is fundamental to the lasting success of the company — and the community.
Corporate Support We strive to build relationships with organizations that help us to improve the quality of life in the communities where our employees and clients live and work. Here are some examples. - The YMCA of Greater New York: We are proud to be the lead sponsor of the YMCA of Greater New York's academics-based after-school initiative, the Virtual Y. This program serves more than 8,000 at-risk children in New York City by helping them master the basic skills they need to succeed in school and in life.
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City: UBS is a partner with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Workplace Mentoring Program, which introduces students to the world of business through a one-to-one relationship. Teenagers visit companies and meet with a Big Brother or Sister. The curriculum offers the children an opportunity to learn about the skills necessary to transition into the workplace.
- Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center: UBS has a long-standing history with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, which recently unveiled the "UBS Urgent Care Center."; The new and expanded facility provides emergency services to outpatients who require immediate attention at any time of the day or night.
Employee-Led Efforts UBS sponsors and coordinates employee-led volunteer projects and in-kind giving drives throughout the year. We work to expand the Firm's commitment to the volunteerism by: - Leveraging existing relationships in the community.
- Identifying new volunteer opportunities.
- Promoting a culture of volunteerism.
Employees take time to: - Mentor at-risk youth.
- Prepare and serve meals to the homeless.
- Read to children.
- Socialize with seniors.
- Clean up local parks.
- Collect school supplies for needy children, and more.
Through these activities, our employees are helping to improve the lives of children and families throughout our communities. |
