Ted began his career in the financial industry in 2001 with Northwestern Mutual. In 2002, he joined UBS as a junior partner to a seasoned advisor ultimately taking over the senior advisor’s book of business when he retired in 2008. Ted has been a member of the UBS Director’s Club since 2007.
Ted is a Senior Portfolio Manager. Ted focuses on portfolio management, concentrated stock management, corporate insider/Rule 144 restricted stock, trust and estate planning, complex life insurance solutions, multigenerational family wealth management, retirement income and education planning. Ted is FINRA registered and holds Series 7 and 65 securities licenses. He also has licenses in Life and Health insurance and is registered in 33 states.
Ted grew up in Dedham, Massachusetts and has lived in West Simsbury, Connecticut for the last 20 years. He attended Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut where he earned a BA in History and was a four year starter on the Men's ice hockey team. Ted worked in sales and marketing early in his career but, it was only a matter of time that he would become a financial advisor considering that his father and both grandfathers were financial advisors/brokers.
Ted and his wife, Maura, have been married for 37 years. They have three grown children and two grandchildren.
Away from work, Ted and his wife, spend time at their recently purchased second home outside of Savannah, Georgia. Ted is a single digit handicap golfer, an A-level paddle tennis player and recreational tennis player; he also enjoys gardening and is an avid reader.
Ted is very active in the community. He is an 18-year Trustee of the Simsbury Land Trust. He has served as the President of the Hop Brook Tennis Club for the last 7 years and the Treasurer for the Simsbury Cemetery Association since 2018. Since 2007, he has also been a member of the US Foreign Policy Association.
