Travis has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and specializes in portfolio management and investment strategies. In addition to the PMP certification awarded to a select few advisors who have undergone rigorous testing and achieved certain business milestones, Travis holds Series 7, 63, 65 securities and Georgia Insurance licenses, and has special training in the area of Long Term Care. He began his career at Robert Thomas Securities and managed portfolios at Smith Barney until he joined Merrill Lynch in 2006 as a Senior VP of Investments. Because of the success of his business model and high client retention there, he was asked to serve as a mentor to new advisors. In 2012 he moved to UBS to form Bridgeline Wealth Management with Clayton Constant.
Travis’s primary role of managing Bridgeline reflects a business life passion to build a team that provides "best of class" experience for clients at all levels. His core mission is pretty simple: to help people that want to be helped and need guidance. He thrives on the analytical challenges of designing portfolios that fit each client’s individual needs and risk profile, but the relationship aspect of the business is what gives him the most satisfaction. He describes coming to Atlanta for the first time and not knowing a soul until he started to form the close relationships he has with his clients. "I treat my clients like they are my family," he says. "I love helping them work towards their goals and seeing how I can make an impact on their lives. I also like the fact that every relationship is different, and that gives me the opportunity to create unique solutions that work for each client. Every day is different, and that’s stimulating to me."
Travis hails from Charles Town, West Virginia, and attended nearby Shepherd University, where he earned a B.S. in Economics. He purposely chose to work one semester at Disney/Epcot because he wanted the experience of working for a company known for its stellar reputation for guest services. He shies away from the term "workaholic", but he does love his work. Occasional downtime includes travel, golf, and reading (murder mysteries, politics, business, history, pop culture)..."Everything," he says. "The subjects cover so many genres it would make you laugh."
