I grew up in a small town called Guilford on the Connecticut shoreline. Raised by a financial advisor and a school teacher, I learned from a young age the importance of being smart with your money and the rewarding feeling you get from helping others. I went to Bentley University to study business and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in Finance, concentrations in Economics and Accounting and captain of the rugby team. After graduation I found myself at a boutique wealth management firm that specialized in high level comprehensive financial planning and investments for highly compensated corporate executives. Knowing I always wanted to settle down in Connecticut, I left Boston in the spring of 2013 and found myself back in Connecticut working with my father at UBS in New Haven. I now live in Orange, CT with my wife and my son.
One of the things I enjoy most about my role is getting to know our clients, their families, their businesses; and working in partnership with them to construct a plan. Every client has a different story and different goals - therefore each relationship we have requires a customized plan and very thoughtful attention to detail. I obtained my Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®) certifications because it became increasingly obvious to me that in our complex world our clients need a team of professionals that specializes in all areas of financial planning. Investments, paying for college, retirement, legacy planning, insurance, and debt management are all pieces of the puzzle that need to be looked at together, not individually. With this type of comprehensive approach we feel the benefits are magnified and our clients who see it firsthand will be the first to agree with us.
I strongly believe in the importance of a good work-life balance. That is one of the reasons I am so passionate about what we do. Our team takes the stress and time you dedicate to managing your finances off your shoulders. This leaves you with more time to do what you love to do – whether that’s spending time with family, working on your business, or travelling. Outside of the office I enjoy snowboarding in the winter, golf in the summer, putting together community events, working out at my local Crossfit gym, and generally just staying active year-round. One of the main reasons I stay active is so that I can enjoy the fantastic food and restaurant options that the New Haven and New York City areas have to offer. And of great importance to me is my time spent volunteering in the New Haven non-profit community. I have spent time with the Ronald McDonald House, the SARAH Foundation, the New Haven Chamber of Commerce, and on the board Junior Achievement's New Haven Chapter.
