- He is the oldest of his parents' eight children.

- He graduated as valedictorian of St. Xavier High School in 2005.

- He attended the University of Notre Dame where he studied Spanish and pre-medical sciences.

- He was a member of the Notre Dame varsity cross country and track teams. His team finished 3^rd at the 2005 NCAA championship and was crowned Big East Conference champion five times.  

- He graduated Magna cum Laude from Notre Dame in three years.

- He spent a year in northern Indiana volunteering at a medical clinic for uninsured and impoverished patients.

- He earned a scholarship to and attended the University of Louisville School of Medicine.

- He is fluent in Spanish and has spent nearly two months volunteering in medical clinics and hospitals in Central America.

- He served as an academic tutor of players from the University of Notre Dame and University of Louisville football programs. Nineteen of his former students are currently playing in the National Football League.

- He has run 4 marathons, qualifying for the Boston Marathon in 2013.

- He is actively involved with the following organizations: Project Latin America, Notre Dame Club of Louisville, Spina Bifida Association of Kentucky, Saint Xavier Professional and Business Association, Catholic Business Network of Louisville, and the Young Professional Association of Louisville.

- He is married to Katie (Crush) Daly, who teaches U.S. History at Sacred Heart Academy.
