Michael Caplan received his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1991, with honors, with a focus on mathematical modeling and economics. He thereafter received his law degree in 1995, with honors. His law practice initially focused in the area of private equity and hedge fund law where he frequently handled complex transactions for executives of multinational corporations, including advising corporations on investments in both public and private companies. Michael was selected to be a Fellow at Georgetown's Institute of International Economic Law and also was an adjunct law professor at Georgetown University Law Center. Prior to joining UBS's Wealth Management Americas Group, Michael worked for some of the most prestigious law firms in Washington DC and New York, NY.

Michael leverages his background in mathematics and his experience as an attorney to focus in wealth management for individuals and businesses. With an emphasis on wealth preservation strategies and in developing financial plans specifically tailored to clients' needs, Michael prepares allocation models using complex algorithms to minimize risk and to increase the expected rate of return of a client's overall portfolio. As a financial advisor at UBS, Michael provides a full range of wealth management services including: retirement advice, charitable pursuits, education funding, estate planning, risk management, investment management and business strategies.
