Angela has over 20 years of experience advising substantial families on sophisticated investment strategies to manage risk, liquidity, and, where appropriate, implement socially responsible and impact investments. In addition, Angela brings a unique perspective and skillset as one of the few designated Family Office Consultants at UBS to engage with families regarding family business succession planning, family governance, intergenerational wealth planning, and impactful philanthropy. In short, partnering with our families at the intersection of Family, Finance, and Philanthropy. Angela serves on the UBS Sustainability Advisor Council and was selected as an Ambassador for UBS Global Visionaries. Prior to joining UBS in 2008, Angela was a Private Banker at Lehman Brothers Private Investment Management and began her financial services career at J.P. Morgan Private Bank (formerly Morgan Guaranty Trust).
Angela is active in the community and serves on multiple boards. She is a Trustee of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (Chair Investment Committee for $1.8B endowment), on the Board of Directors of Grace Farms Foundation, and she most recently joined Pharrell Williams' Yellow Advisory Board. She serves on the Board of Directors of Jumia, a for profit e-commerce platform operating in Africa. Angela continues to be active in the Cornell community serving on the SC Johnson Cornell School of Business and the Cornell Trustee Alumni Network. She was awarded the Wilbur Parker Award for her work in diversity and was recently selected as the recipient of the Robert J. Swieringa Service Award. Former board engagements include: Grassroot Soccer, Global Health Alliance, Beespace, Forward Impact, and she was a Founding Member of the United Nations Foundation Global Entrepreneurs Council.
Angela has received various industry and community awards including the “Women of Power and Influence Award” by the National Organization of Women (alongside Janet Yellen), one of “46 Leaders in Sustainable Investing” by Forbes, one of the City and State New York Top 100 in CSR in 2017, and was named one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Private Wealth in 2015 by Private Asset Management Magazine. She is a frequent speaker at conferences and in the media (Bloomberg, CNBC and Barron‘s), providing market insights and commentary on investments with an Environmental, Social and Governance focus.
Angela is a member of the Social Investment Forum and the Economic Club of New York. She earned an M.B.A. from Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University and an B.A./M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Konstanz, Germany. Angela lives with her husband and son in Brooklyn and Ithaca, is fluent in German, and likes to test limits having run six marathons and scaling Mt. Kilimanjaro.
