About Charles Day

The power of Advice. Beyond investing.

With more than 21 years delivering Wealth Management advice, Charles understands people and their challenges. While he has the knowledge and experience to help them make smarter decisions, his emotional connections - as a patient listener and a reliable advocate - are what inspire confidence. As the founding partner of The Charles Day Group, one of the leading Private Wealth Management teams at UBS, Charles delivers comprehensive planning and portfolio management solutions for complex wealth. But his advice focuses on much more than investing. His clients often come to him during difficult life transitions and with diverse needs ranging from estate planning and mortgage financing to business sale and succession.

“I love the feeling that I’m taking care of people. My clients rely on me to deal with what is usually the most stressful part of their lives. I embrace that role.”

Charles began his career in finance at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and in the office of the mayor of New York City. He spent his first four years after law school as an appellate prosecutor in Brooklyn, then joined a large corporate law firm. Today, as a UBS Managing Director, a title reserved for select business leaders around the world, he combines the skills he honed from his law career to analyze issues, plan, strategize, manage stressful situations and build relationships.

Charles has been recognized as an industry leader, having been nominated and selected for Forbes' Best-In-State Wealth Advisors in 2020 and 2019. He is also a UBS Pinnacle Council member; the highest designation awarded by the firm to distinguish its most accomplished advisors.

About Emily Zangrillo

A passion for people and wealth management

When Emily joined UBS more than seven years ago, she knew she wanted to combine her understanding of the financial world with her passion for helping people. A career in wealth management gives her the best of both worlds. Today, as a Senior Wealth Strategy Associate for The Charles Day Group, she has a multifaceted role within her team. A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®), Emily focuses primarily on transition planning and client engagement.

Through retirement planning, Emily works with clients to define and quantify their goals and concerns in life within the context of their current and future financial situation. This dynamic process helps to inform an optimal asset allocation and to provide insight into other opportunities, such as Long Term Care Insurance or a mortgage refinance. Most importantly, clients gain peace of mind knowing that they have the liquidity to enjoy their working years, the longevity needed for retirement, and perhaps a meaningful legacy to leave to their heirs and/or charity. When it comes to divorce, Emily serves as a trusted advisor to the client and their legal team. She does this by offering projections of how the financial decisions they make today may impact their future.

Emily also focuses on fostering multigenerational client engagement through various marketing initiatives, as well as connecting clients to the individuals and opportunities that interest them. Notably, she works with clients and their families to ensure they are well positioned against cyber threats and identity theft, two issues that are increasingly prevalent in today's world.

“These are the words that guide me day to day: Treat others as you would like to be treated. Because my team and I are in a position of such responsibility, we strive to consciously and consistently provide for our clients as we would expect others to do for us.”
