Bill James, founding partner of UBS's James, Hull & Ford Wealth Management, has been a financial advisor for 27 years. Prior to joining UBS, he advised clients and institutions as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch, where he also assisted in the training, education and mentoring of new financial advisors entering the profession. Before his career as a financial advisor, Bill was an analyst with the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

After joining UBS, Mr. James and his partner, Jason Hull, began assembling a highly respected team of professionals as part of their vision to effectively serve the complex needs of high net worth families, institutions, and government agencies. Bill advises clients across North America and maintains offices in Columbus and Marietta, Ohio.

Bill enjoys working with clients. Whether provding insight to small business owners or helping a client create a long-term financial plan, Bill believes he is most effective by getting to know his clients and actively listening to their concerns and objectives.

Mr. James's dedication to clients has been recognized by both his firm and the financial press. In 2018, he earned the Wealth Advisor designation at UBS. In 2018, 2019 and 2020, Bill was ranked one of the Best-In-State Wealth Advisors in Ohio by Forbes. Barron's has recognized him as one of the "Top 1,000 Advisors" in the nation, and he was named the top advisor in West Virginia in 2009, 2010, and 2011. Bill also advocates on behalf of clients and the financial services industry as a member of the Executive Board of UBS's Political Action Committee (PAC).

Bill grew up in rural Jackson, Ohio. He is a graduate of Ohio University, where he was a Copeland Scholar in the College of Business. Mr. James and his family are active in their community and church with numerous charitable involvements. When he is not advising clients, Bill enjoys big game hunting, beekeeping, and reading.
