Dan started his career in the financial services industry as a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch in 1991. Years later, he moved to Key Investments, whose name changed to McDonald Investments and was later acquired by UBS in 2007.

Dan attended the University of Dayton on a Basketball scholarship and twice earned the Scholar Athlete award.  He earned a bachelor's degree in engineering as well as a master of business administration.

Dan spent many years coaching and developing young basketball players in the Dayton area. He and his wife Margie live in Miamisburg, Ohio and have three daughters and one son.
