Institutional consulting

Today’s retirement plan landscape is changing rapidly. As a plan sponsor, you may face daily challenges optimizing your plan, meeting your fiduciary and regulatory obligations, and educating your employees. Our team can work with ERISA attorneys, 401(k) auditing firms, financial advisors and investment bankers to help you meet your needs.

As Senior Institutional Consultants, we take the time to understand your organization's unique culture and provide the experience, resources and industry longevity to help simplify plan complexity. Our clients span various industries and we offer extensive experience with all the major providers, servicing over 5,000 employees and approximately $2 Billion in qualified plan and individual client assets (as of 12/19).

“Every organization is unique. We’ll work closely together to integrate plan design consulting, investment management and employee education in order to help simplify plan complexity and drive participation.”

— Alan Spierer

Retirement plan consulting services

We help design, implement and monitor companies’ 401(k), Defined Benefit, Nonqualified and Multiple Employer Plans (MEPs), as well as programs for Foundations and Endowments, nonprofit organizations and governmental entities. Our team will help you evaluate indicators of plan health, maintain the most competitive cost structures, formalize investment committee decision-making and manage regulatory requirements.

  • ERISA 404(c) compliance checklist assistance. We help with ERISA section 404(c) compliance, which may shield sponsors from liability for poor investment decisions made by plan participants.
  • Asset allocation modeling. Through asset and liability analysis, we detail spending policy evaluation and formulation, strategic rebalancing and tactical positions.
  • Ongoing reviews. We hold regular reviews outlining policy compliance, performance attribution, economic conditions and rebalancing recommendations.
  • Performance measurement and recordkeeper. We provide customized reporting, trustee and fiduciary education, custody and trust services and platform transition coordination.
  • Manager search and selection. A successful investment manager search includes a disciplined selection process, consistency in applying that process and skilled search professionals to implement the process.
  • Nonqualified plan services. The unique structure of nonqualified plans demands the attention of a full service consultant, including plan design, funding analysis and implementation.
