Trammel began his career advising institutional investors—mainly hedge funds, pension funds and mutual funds. Later he worked with newly formed companies in Hong Kong and then in Boston, and learned about the opportunities and challenges entrepreneurs and business owners often face. These professional experiences provided him with deeper insight and a global perspective on risk, portfolio management and business growth and transition. He knew he could use this knowledge to make a difference in the financial lives of individuals and their families.
Trammel shifted his focus to wealth management and, today as a UBS Private Wealth Advisor, he is doing just that. Working primarily with entrepreneurs and their families, he provides advice on a number of issues they face, including managing the after-tax impact of their business transitions while incorporating other wealth goals such as gifting to family members and philanthropy. Financial planning is the starting point for all of Trammel’s relationships. To him, there’s no better way to understand the goals that matter most to his clients and, ultimately, how they can work together to pursue them.
