E. Peterson Hostetler

Originally from Greensboro NC, Peterson grew up all over the southeast, spending most summers in upstate New York, as his family followed his father's textile career.  Tired of moving, Peterson found Chattanooga as a boarding student and attended The McCallie School. While at McCallie he joined the Crew and learned the sport of rowing.  During which time the team was invited by the Queen to compete in the Henley Royal Regatta in England.  He returned home with a desire to pursue two passions that he had fostered while away, a love for water and travel. After McCallie Peterson took a "Summer at Sea" sailing from St. Marteen to Trinadad.  His insatiable appetite for water and its activities only grew as he was recruited to row for Rollins College. Upon graduating with his degree in Philosophy he moved to Martha's Vineyard to work for Walter Cronkite's maritime foundation.  During his time on the Vineyard he taught sailing lessons, started a Marine Consulting business, and received his USCG Captain's license.

Peterson started his professional career in central Florida joining an aggressive training program in the corporate consulting field.  Servicing global manufacturing and distribution clients such as UPS, Fedex, and Guest Supply. This led him to his first career as a Strategic Business Consultant, gaining invaluable experience that taught him the intimate workings of global corporations. Feeling the South calling him back Peterson accepted an opportunity to join the McCallie staff as a Crew coach and Admissions officer.  Peterson started his finance Career in 2011 entering the training program at Morgan Stanley where he earned his series 7,66, and 31 securities licenses.

Peterson introduced himself to his wife Natalie in line at the Grocery store. They spend most of their free time outside with their son Winston and dog Rollins, hiking, and sailing. Peterson is a graduate of Leadership Chattanooga and is an active member of the greater Chattanooga community.

Liz joined the Skonberg team in 2008 at the height of an exciting, yet stressful time in the market.   She quickly found her passion working with our client families.  Along with her teammates, she is committed to planning-centric wealth management.   Focused on the details and keenly aware of the client relationship, she assists in the implementation of financial plans and quickly addresses clients’ service needs.  Liz works hard to make sure that we exceed the expectations of our clients and enjoys seeing them achieve their financial goals.

Liz grew up in the Chattanooga area and graduated from Covenant College in 2000.  Using her education and desire to work with families she began her career in the social services field immediately after college.  She worked for many years as a foster child case manager, adoption worker, and foster parent trainer.  She gained many new skills including how to work under intense pressure.  However, the most important thing gained was the experience of helping in the adoptions of many local children.

In the second incarnation of her career, Liz worked for a small chemical sales company in Nashville running operations including bookkeeping, customer service, and inventory.  This first step into the world of business brought out her love for numbers and details that must have come from her CPA father.  Desiring to be back in her hometown and use the interesting set of skills she’d acquired in her careers she applied to work at UBS.

Now in her third career, Liz has found a great fit at UBS.  She has worked with George Skonberg for nearly 10 years first as his service associate and later as a Financial Advisor.  She now enjoys spending some time at home with her family while also getting to work as a Wealth Strategy Associate part time.  She looks forward to being back full time in the near future.  Liz holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses as well as insurance licenses.

Liz and her husband Steve have two young daughters, Pippa and Millie.  They keep her busy enjoying gymnastics, pee wee pep squad, and riding bikes.  She also enjoys getting to express her creative side through painting.  She is actively involved in her church and enjoys volunteering to benefit the children and families in our community, having served on the boards of Chattanooga’s Kids on the Block and Northside Neighborhood House, and as a current sustaining member of the Junior League of Chattanooga
